How it works
The Speakeasy Studio is a bespoke experience.
Step into the speakeasy: Our 10x10 blacked-out studio shields you from awkward venue lighting, DJ lasers, and window glare. It’s just you, custom cinematic lighting, and pure atmosphere.
The Bouncer: Keep it simple with open access, or go full speakeasy with a custom password requirement at the door.
The Lens: Guests get 3–5 guided takes and choose their favorite frame to print and take home.
The Evidence: Walk out with a dry, smudge-proof, lab-quality 4x6 print in minutes. Sign the Speakeasy Ledger on your way out, and we’ll text the high-res digital copy straight to your phone.
Control the Room
You decide how your guests get into the studio. We customize the entry method to match your crowd.
The Velvet Rope (Keep it Simple): No passwords needed—just a dedicated VIP host managing the door. We keep the line moving fast while guests walk right up. (Best for large weddings and corporate parties).
The Full Speakeasy (High Immersion): We run a strict door. Guests must find the password on your cocktail napkins or present a custom token to gain entry. It’s an instant icebreaker and a total VIP flex. (Best for intimate weddings, milestone birthdays, and galas).
The Standard Experience
Lactose Intolerant (Prop-Free): Cheese-free, clean, editorial, unapologetic. Just high-fashion studio portraits of you and your favorite people looking incredible.
Choose Your Edit:
Grandpa Vision (B&W Edit): Gritty, high-contrast, black-and-white editorial portraits. Timeless, dramatic, and intensely flattering.
Giggle Water (Color Edit): Punchy color and blooming highlights, inspired by hazy prohibition-era speakeasy lounges.
The Prop Packages
The Camp Flannel ($150): Deep Maine Grit. Heavy vintage flannels, dull camp hatchets, oversized trapper hats, and battered thermos jugs. Built for the rugged and the unapologetic.
THE FLORIDA MAN ($150): Pure South Beach Chaos. Mullet visors, neon wrap-around shades, swamp puppies, and unhinged energy. We dump the Florida Man prop bag into the tent and let nature take its course.
High Fantasy (Ren Faire / Festivals) ($150): For the Guilds, Knights & Elves. Equipped with heavy steel-finish replica swords, ornate chalices, and dark velvet drapes.
Seasonal & Rotational Prop Packages
Planning a corporate holiday party, event, or seasonal festival? We swap the standard props for high-end, cinematic seasonal gear (+$200 per package).
The Naughty List (Christmas/Holiday): Holiday spirits—emphasis on the spirits. Zero flimsy felt Santa hats allowed. Think tangled strands of vintage bulb lights, tinsel boas, oversized faux-fur winter coats, and absolute corporate-party chaos.
Dreamin’ of Daisy (New Year's Eve): Pure midnight glam and reckless abandon. We ban those cheap paper year-glasses at the door. Instead, we lean into full Gatsby indulgence: heavy crystal coupe glasses, unknotted velvet bowties, cascading pearls, and empty champagne bottles. A high-end, roaring twenties aesthetic built for a modern hangover.
The Night Shift (Halloween): Cinematic dread. Classic, high-end horror movie aesthetics. High-quality silicone vintage masks, heavy fake chains, and moody, high-contrast shadows.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The Speakeasy Studio is a premium, enclosed black-tent photo booth rental serving weddings and festivals in Maine. It features a manned professional photographer, cinematic studio lighting, and instant lab-quality physical prints.
-
Both. Guests receive a physical, dry 4x6 print in minutes. Guests can also sign our Ledger to have a high-resolution digital copy texted directly to their phone for social media sharing.
-
Yes. The Speakeasy Studio is a fully mobile portrait activation based in Greater Portland, Maine. We travel for weddings, corporate events, brand launches, and regional festivals.
-
We require a 10x10 foot footprint to set up the fully enclosed black canopy tent, plus access to a standard electrical outlet for our studio lighting and dye-sub printer.
-
In order to minimize bottlenecks. Our host manages entry, but if the crowd surges, we automatically shift from instant printing to hourly batch printing. Guests get their poses directed, receive their high-res digital copies via text, and can head back to the party while their physical prints are queued up for pick-up. No waiting in a stalled line.
-
To keep the queue moving and the energy high, each group gets a curated 3-take session. A pro photographer directs every pose, ensuring three distinct, high-fashion portraits rather than throwaway test shots. You review them on the spot, get all three sent straight to your phone, and walk out with your physical print (or grab it at the batch print station if the floor is packed).
-
Absolutely. While the Speakeasy experience is built first and foremost for guest entertainment and personal prints, full New England commercial licensing for event recap decks, PR, and brand marketing can easily be added to any package.
